Shelley Duvall

Shelley Duvall (* 7. Juli 1949 in Houston, Texas) ist eine US-amerikanische Film- und Fernsehschauspielerin. Duvall begann ihre Karriere in den 1970er Jahren als Schauspielerin in den Filmen von Robert Altman. Einer ihrer größten Erfolge war der Part der Mildred „Millie“ Lammoreaux in Robert Altmans Drama Drei Frauen (1977), für den sie den Darstellerpreis auf den Filmfestspielen von Cannes 1977 gewann und auch als beste Hauptdarstellerin von den Los Angeles Film Critics gewählt wurde. Danach hatte sie Rollen in Filmen von Woody Allen, Stanley Kubrick, Terry Gilliam und Tim Burton. In Deutschland ist Duvall besonders in der Rolle der Wendy in Stanley Kubricks Film Shining (1980) bekannt geworden. Anfang der 1980er Jahre begann Duvall, Fernsehsendungen für Kinder zu produzieren, zumeist Märchen, in denen sie auch selbst mitspielte.
