Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel Leroy Jackson (geb. 21. Dezember 1948) ist ein amerikanischer Film- und Fernsehschauspieler und Filmproduzent. Nachdem Jackson sich mit der Bürgerrechtsbewegung beschäftigt hatte, ging er weiter zum Theater am Morehouse College und dann zum Film. Er hatte mehrere kleine Rollen wie in dem Film Goodfellas, Def by Temptation, bevor er seinen Mentor Morgan Freeman und den Regisseur Spike Lee traf. Nachdem er 1991 für seine Rolle im Jungle Fever von der Kritik gelobt wurde, trat er in Filmen wie Patriot Games, Amos & Andrew, True Romance und Jurassic Park auf. 1994 wurde er als Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction besetzt, und seine Performance erhielt mehrere Nominierungen und Kritiken. Jackson hat seitdem in über 100 Filmen mitgewirkt, darunter Die Hard with a Vengeance, The 51st State, Jackie Brown, Unbreakable, The Incredibles, Black Snake Moan, Shaft, Snakes on a Plane sowie die Star Wars Prequel-Trilogie und kleine Rollen in Quentin Tarantinos Kill Bill Vol. 2 und Inglourious Basterds. Er spielte Nick Fury in Iron Man und Iron Man 2, Thor, die ersten beiden einer neunteiligen Verpflichtung als Charakter für die Marvel Cinematic Universe Franchise. Jacksons viele Rollen haben ihn zu einem der erfolgreichsten Schauspieler an der Abendkasse gemacht. Jackson hat im Laufe seiner Karriere mehrere Auszeichnungen erhalten und wurde in verschiedenen Medien wie Filmen, Fernsehserien und Songs porträtiert. 1980 heiratete Jackson LaTanya Richardson, mit der er eine Tochter hat, Zoe.
